An Awful Beautiful Life: Fall is in the air

An Awful Beautiful Life: Fall is in the air

Fall is in the air

Yesterday was a day of walking in Grapevine and pumpkin patch. Grapevine is great with all their little shops and fun decorations. We found this great little italian place called Napoli's. Not only was it reasonably priced but the food and desserts were to die for. Emma and I of course had the hand made gelato, but Steve went for the home-made pumpkin w/gingerbread crust, cheese cake. He relished every bite. After that wonderful eating adventure it was off to the pumpkin patch. Emma loved running through all the pumpkins and found a small one she had to take home. They also have goats, chickens, and rabbits so she loved seeing the animals too. She got to sit on a big tractor like the true Texas girl she is. It was a fun day!!!

Disney movies....

I had a friend post on FB that her son was watching the Fox and the Hound and how sad it is. So this made me think of something that I have said a million times WTH is up with Disney movies??? They are usually extremely sad or have a really scary villain in the them. So now I am wondering if Walt  maybe created the night light? And possibly had some stock in therapy?? In that case the man was a genius, scare the snot out of your kids then they will need both lolol I mean think about all the Disney movies you know, Bambis' mom gets killed and by a gun no less, Simbas' dad gets killed b/c he doesn't listen to the rules and has an evil uncle, Dumbo gets separated from his mother, Ursula is SCARY even to me, Cruela Deville is a mean monster who makes her coat out of puppies??? This is only a very few examples. So I end my rant with serious Disney, what's up with this????

Fort Worth Cats Game

Last night was the local baseball teams closing game. We decided to go since it was bogo free tickets and $1 hot dog night. Can't beat it! Emma loves baseball ever since she went to her first Rangers game. Even if it's on tv she will sit and watch for a minute. We had a great time hanging out with our friend Chris and the $1 hot dogs were a nice treat. Emma topped her evening off with a giant snocone which was then followed up by a sugar high, then rounding home with a sugar crash. Take me out to the ball game!!!!!

Fort Worth Museum trip

Last month my mom and I took Emma to check out the Fort Worth Museum now that's it's been all re-done. It was ok but for as much as they charge I was expecting more. Emma had more fun at the end in the FREE water fountain lol

We made a trip up to Yukon,OK  on July 4th weekend and had a fabulous time. It was only about a 3 hour drive but we were all in need of a getaway. We had so much fun just doing all the local things. It was a small town so no big crowds or waiting. Emma got to ride ponies and pet goats. There was also face painting, train rides, jump houses and spin art. The most awesome thing is it was all free. After that fun we decided to go eat by our hotel. A mexican place called Alfredo's. It was beyond delicious!!! Then we headed back to the park and got our seats ready for the most spectacular fireworks show we had ever seen. The next day we went to see the Oklahoma City bombing site. It was a very humbling experience and makes you thankful for the little things in life. After that is was time to catch a bite to eat so we drove down Route 66 and found this cool diner named Pop's. They sold something like 200+ different types of pop. It was definitely a fun family trip to remember.
Well I've had this blog for awhile and haven't done much with it so decided that we would make it our family blog.
